Q&A

Q. Does the price include all taxes and fees? A. No, Mexico's VAT tax rate of 16% is not included. Please reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification. Q. How can I secure a reservation? A. Once availability is confirmed, all reservations must be secured by a one-night deposit. Balance is due upon arrival. We accept Credit and Debit Cards, MXN or USD. When needed we use XE (xe.com) as a trusted source of exchange rate information to figure exchange rates. Please check with us if you wish to pay your balance in advance with a US Bank personal check or through Zelle. Q. What is your Cancellation Policy? A. Guests can receive a full refund (less a $10 USD processing fee) when a cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to check-in date. No refunds will be issued for No shows, cancellations made at arrival time, or flight cancellations. No refunds will be made for early checkout regardless of reason. As a small inn, we require your commitment to your reservation. Reservations are accepted with the understanding that you will be financially responsible for the entire period reserved. We cannot be responsible for illness, family emergencies, world pandemics, work conflicts, inclement weather or cancelled flights. We highly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance, available at a nominal cost from any travel agency or online at insuremytrip.com. These companies are independent and not affiliated with our hotel. Q. Where is the hotel located? Is it safe to walk at night? A. Casa 22 is located in Garcia Gineres, a historic neighborhood three city blocks north of Centro (Barrio Santiago) and a short walk to Paseo Montejo. In general, Merida isn't really any less safe at night than during the day. As there's Uber in Merida, it's always a good idea to Uber home instead of walking. Uber here tends to be cheaper than in the U.S. You may be paying about $30-70 pesos ($1.5-4USD) for a five minute drive from Centro to the hotel. Q. Can you tell me where in the hotel my bedroom will be located? What will the view be? A. All apartments face the back of the property overlooking a pool and a large garden with mature trees. Our tallest trees can reach up to 10 meters (32ft) high. Their canopies provide shelter to countless types of birds, shade to colorful alocasias and privacy to the bedrooms in the apartments. Q. Is it safe to drink the water in Merida? To be completely safe, only drink bottled water. You will be provided with purified drinking water throughout your stay. Restaurants will provide you with bottle water and ice made from filtered water. The water in the pool is chemically treated and safe. Q. Is there any particular neighborhood to avoid in Merida? A. South Merida is known as the least safe part of the city. This area is located south of Merida International Airport. Q. How fast is your Internet connection? A. Internet speeds at closest and fardest point to the router have been testing at about 198 Mbps and 54 Mbps respectively. Four devices were connected to the network in both scenarios. We have currently installed a Mesh WiFi system with three nodes distributed throughout the apartments. This allows for faster speeds, better reliability and greater coverage. Q. What are the check-in and check-out times? A. Check-in is at 14:00 and Check-out is at 11:00. Q. Do you offer pick-up or drop-off service or other transportation/shuttle service? A. Currently we are not offering this service but intend to provide our guests with MID airport pick-up and drop-off service. Q. Do you have smoking/non-smoking areas in the hotel? A. There is no smoking allowed in any guest rooms or indoor common spaces. Smoking is permitted in exterior areas only.
